Grade 8 retreat reflection blog post
The grade 8 retreat overall for me was fun, tiring, good, and bad well being with 23 grade eights for the whole day is atually harder then it seems because there was a grade eights in both the morning and afternoon group that weren't listening and they weren't cooperating with us like for example there was a boy who kept putting his shirt on his face like that got us a bit annoying for us. A few things I would improve for next year are having a better game plan and also to put different groups of grade eights together so they can meet new people. Some strengths I have as a leader are getting people in an organized format, raising my voice when needed and letting the grade eights have a say in what they want to do. Some areas I could improve on as being a leader are explaining the activity in a format that the kids could play the activity and understand it and also try to get all the grade eights involved because in some activities the kids were losing interest and not participating. One moment I had as a teacher is when I was raising my voice to get the grade eights to listen and also when I was trying to arrange them in a certain format. One moment I had as a learner is when one girl I ( I don't remember her name ) was explaining a game to me that I have never played or heard of so I felt like a learner then.
